Passport Home: A Custom Song for a Sister’s Camino Journey | Verse Things First

Some stories are already halfway to being a song. When Ayla reached out to Verse Things First, she wanted a custom song for her sister - something personal and heartfelt to mark the beginning of Dee’s new adventure walking the Camino and travelling overseas.

Her request was simple but powerful:

The Inspiration Behind the Song

Ayla shared a beautiful glimpse into their world: growing up five years apart, Dee was her baby doll, her sidekick, her best friend.

She told us about bikes to the beach, trampoline laughter, smashed plums, and road trips with Hungry Jack’s stops and Hercules sing-alongs. About living together later in life, with music, chaos, friends, and endless laughter.

Their bond is a mix of sisterhood and motherhood - Ayla helped raise Dee, and now, watching her take this brave new step, she wanted to remind her that she’ll always have a home to come back to.

The lyrics capture their journey together and Ayla’s message of pride and support:
