I Choo, Choo, Choose You — A 20-Year Love Story Turned Song
Share
When Wayne reached out to create a song for his wife Shirley, he wasn’t looking for something flashy or over-the-top. He wanted something real — a song that captured twenty years of marriage, countless memories, and the quiet kind of love that grows stronger with time.
From the start, it was clear that Shirley is the heart of their family — gentle, kind, and always putting everyone else first. She’s the calm in the storm, the organiser, the one who makes sure everyone’s happy (even if she’s running just a little bit late).
Wayne told me their story started at a pub in Melbourne, where he met Shirley through friends. He admitted he was shy back then, but something about her smile made time slow down. They took things slowly, built something steady, and years later said “I do” at a Winery — dancing to “I Just Want to Dance with You” by George Strait.
Since then, life’s been full of laughter, family, and memories — weekends around their kids and countless holidays on the Sunshine Coast. As Wayne said, “It wasn’t the destination — it was being there with her.”
Their custom song, I Choo, Choo, Choose You, became a celebration of it all:
the inside jokes, the Netflix nights, the late arrivals, and the love that’s never wavered. It’s a reflection of two decades of shared life — patient, forgiving, and deeply rooted in respect.
When Wayne heard the finished track, he sent a message that stopped me in my tracks:
“You absolutely smashed it out of the ball park.
I cannot believe how great the song turned out. You’ve captured my feelings and emotions perfectly.
There will not be a dry eye when I play it for my beautiful wife.”
This is why we do what we do. Every story is different — some full of laughter, some full of tears — but every song reminds us that love, in all its forms, deserves to be heard.
Happy 20th Anniversary, Wayne and Shirley. Thank you for letting us be part of such a beautiful milestone.
